Vacant Home Staging, Golden Valley, MN – From Cold to Cozy and Charming!
by Shar Sitter in Home Staging, Real Estate Market
Rooms With Style was recently called to complete a vacant home staging in this newly refurbished and updated home in Golden Valley, MN. The home is stunning with beautiful detailing.
The problem was the buyer could not differentiate between the living area and the dining area. Although the wiring had been completed, the builder chose to not add a dining room light fixture so the new home owner could place it exactly where they wanted it. Great idea but it did leave some confusion.
The dining space is small but appears so much smaller when it is vacant. The living area is also small making it difficult for the buyer to imagine how the furniture will be place in this open room floor plan. In addition, the room echoed and was cold and sterile.
The rooms are now well defined and cozy. Home Staging can make a HUGE difference! Which do you think the buyer can visualize themselves living in?

Don’t let your listings be cold and stark. Have a Professional Home Stager turn them into a charming and cozy home that anyone would want to move into.

My Favorite Online Bargain Site
by Shar Sitter in Local Interst
I love getting deals and bargains, who doesn’t. I signed up for this online site and I am loving it. Have you heard of Groupon.com?
You enter the city you are interested in getting deals from or enter your zip code. You can also tell them what kind of deals you are most interested in. Restaurants, sports, arts, shopping, etc.
There is a deal everyday and you will be notified by email of a deal that fits your categories. If you don’t like the deal, just ignore it.
Most of the deals are 50% off. A $25 gift certificate to a restaurant will be $12.50. A ticket to an event will be $8 instead of $16. Some are 40% off and some are 60% off.
I have bought things that I would never have considered before (River Boat Cruise) and gone to restaurants that I wouldn’t have tried. There was even a $50 Gap certificate for $25 but that one was sold out in minutes flat.
One of my other favorites I purchase is deals at spas. Facials or massages for 50% off!! Love that!
So if you like deals, like to try new things or go new places in your area, this is a great webiste to check out and get a deal at the same time. It is easy, you just print off your Groupon.com certificate right from your computer and away you go. They even email you if it is about to expire, how great is that!

Master Bedrooms are Important Square Footage – Treat them as Such.
by Shar Sitter in Home Staging, Real Estate Market, Staging Tips
Something a Home Stager knows is that Master Bedrooms are extremely important square footage and should be treated as valuable property!
In my opinion if someone has narrowed it down to two homes to buy the deciding factor will be the Kitchen and Master Bedroom. Everyone knows “kitchens sell homes”. I don’t disagree. But, I think the Master Bedroom is a close second and so many sellers ignore that room. Check out this difference:

Which speaks of a Master Retreat to you? Which do you think the buyer can see themselves relaxing in?
If you have ever watched the TV Program on HGTV called “House Hunters”, it is almost without a doubt one of the comments will be “this master bedroom is too small” or “this master bedroom is so boring”. Both these negative comments can be overcome.
A small appearing bedroom probably needs the right size furniture and the boring bedroom needs a few dollars to provide luxury. On “House Hunters” the buyers went against their better judgement and bought a home with a “too small” master bedroom because of the incredible views. They were shocked that a queen bed and two night stands fit no problem. The bedroom had been vacant and they had no sense of size, many buyers probably passed on the home for the same reason.
A Master Bedroom should look simple and elegant. Many buyers have put huge upgrades into the rest of their home and never got around to doing anything with their private space since no one sees it. Get some inexpensive bedding, buy some lamps, rent a bed frame or headboard if needed, just MAKE IT SHINE!
Positioning of the bed is also important. The bed should always be placed to make a statement when entering the room and try to avoid putting it in front of a window if possible.
Don’t overlook some of the most valuable square footage in your home. Ask Rooms With Style to assist you in making a lasting impression with the buyer OR how to achieve that special retreat for you to enjoy before you move.

A Vacant Home Staging, Minneapolis, MN
by Shar Sitter in Home Staging, Recent Projects
Don’t you love before and after pictures? I do. That must be why I watch so my HGTV and am a Designer and Home Stager.
I got the privledge to stage this vacant home a few days ago that is an incredible house. It is only a few blocks from Lake Nokomis and has so many upgrades.
The full potential of the home was being missed when it was vacant. Although good bones, there were a few spots that could leave a buyer bored.
The buyer was originally greeted by a dark living room. No overheads lights and the blinds were shut so it was very difficult to see the stunning fireplace. After, the living room is full of light, very cozy and brings a smile to your face.
The dining area seemed extremely small when it was empty. Now with a table it shows that there is not only ample space but it enhances the incredible detailing in the room.
Don’t let the potential buyer see boring when they enter your listing! Contact Rooms With Style and make your listing stand out from the competition.
